HISTORY: Isle of Man is an island in the Irish Sea, off the west coast of Great Britain and Ireland. It has been inhabited since earlier than 6500 BC and has a storied history. Today it remains a territory of Britain.

OBVERSE: ”ISLE OF MAN,” “ELIZABETH II,” and “1984” frame the left side profile of a young Elizabeth II (1926– ). Pobjoy Mint, Ltd. initials “PM” are inscribed below her back.

REVERSE: Pobjoy Mint, County of Surrey, England, released the very first Gold Angel coin, depicting a classical image of Saint Michael with heavily feathered wings astride a fiery dragon, a spear thrust through its neck. A Celtic band appears in the surround, which is broken at the top of the coin with an image of the Isle of Man Triskeles. The exergue states “FINE GOLD 1/10 OUNCE” and “ANGEL.”
