HISTORY: Created by world-renowned sculptor, painter, and porcelain artist, Hungarian-born Laszlo Ispanky (1919–2010), this #89 medal was issued in 1974 for the Society of Medalists. Ispanky was already world acclaimed by the time he arrived in the United States in 1956. He became chief designer for Cybis Porcelains where his pieces were given by U.S. administrations as gifts to heads of state. His works are in collections worldwide.
