HISTORY: Aries (Latin for ram) is the first fire sign of the Zodiac. In Greek mythology, the ram is known as Chrysomallus, the flying ram. Normally, Aries is acknowledged between March 21st and April 19th; during a leap year (such as 1960), with an added day in February, the dates bump up from March 22nd to April 20th.

OBVERSE: A young, naked lady plays flute to a leaping ram. To the right of the tree branches are the dates “MAR 22 ‒ APR 20,” and beneath is the astrological symbol for Aries (see detail). In the exergue is the defining word, “ARIES.”

REVERSE: From top to bottom, “YOUR LUCKY NUMBERS – 1 – 2”; a four-leaf clover; “YOU ARE ERNEST AND DETERMINED”; an upturned horseshoe; and “YOUR LUCKY DAY TUESDAY.” A star is located at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock.
